RSIS Webinar: Allies Against Pluralism: How Religious Nationalists Are Dismantling Global Democracy (and What We Can Do About It)
Religious nationalist movements can make unlikely partners. Although these groups and ideologies emerge from very different religious and political contexts, around the world they have developed working relationships across religious lines, sharing tactics, legal strategies, media techniques, and political vocabulary. Such cross-traditional exchanges can be seen across Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, and other contexts. This seminar examines how these connections form, what is exchanged, and why movements rooted in different religious nationalisms may nevertheless find common ground over opposition to pluralism.
